a little more relaxed now that he sees the pokemon are ok, he looks at the pokemon. they all seem nice enough, but none of them really stand out. a thought enters his head. "You said you had magikarp. would you happen to have a Feebas?" Feebas was very similar to magikarp, but he knew that it was a long shot. it was somewhat rare, and only seen in pure fresh water. but if she had one, he would be one step closer to completing his dream team.

Alex steps off the boat and takes a good moment to appreciate solid ground again. Jojo, the ever so vigilant Squirtle, stands proudly on the newfound territory. With a grin, the blue turtle's trainer reaches down to pat him on the head. "Wanna go sight-seeing first? Haven't been in a big city since I was a little kid. You've never been, huh, Jojo?"
The Squirtle nods and boldly starts walking towards the center of town... With his trainer in tow, of course. They both want to see what Celedon has in store, and everyone knows that Celedon is all about the stores.
The young woman definitely took a look around town. One couldn't be too curious when it comes to the big city. Plus, she's used to scouting around.

Vera: The Spearow takes the hit. It doesn't like it very much, but it doesn't look really injured yet. It tries a peck this time and the pidgey attempts a gust. Peck: 5430460001d20 2d6+20 Flying Physical Gust: 1d20 2d6+13 Flying Special
Kage: Just as you are about to sneak out the window you notice two people standing outside the house chatting. The way they are standing, one of them has a clear view of all of the windows in the house. Its possible he might simply fail to notice, but it seems unlikely. While you are looking, a girl of around 12 can be seen heading straight for the front door of the house. It seems at least one member of the household is coming home right about now.
Frank: The goldeen seems to be considering your words. It obviously enjoys the flattery, and it perked up when you mentioned getting the chance it could show off for the world. After several long moments of deliberation the goldeen jumps out of the water and gives you a peck on the cheek. It lands back in the shallower water underneath and nods solemnly. Goldeen: Level 5, Lightningrod Ability, Skittish Nature, Female, Mutation:[HP Stat -2, SpDef +2, Spd +1, Knows Lovely Kiss]
Isaac: The girl gives you another look. "You know what to look for kid. Afraid I don't have a Feebass on me, but I can get a hold of one. It will cost about 3500 though, as they are pretty rare."
Alex: The town seems to be broken up into a few main sections. There is the shopping section, an enormous glitzy area with skyscrapers and bright signs and all the works. North of it, but nearby is the buisness part of town. There are offices, and some sort of stock market place and things like that. This section is also sky scappery, but of a much less bright and cheery sort. Around these two sections of town there is a residential area. Homes, apartments and schools are in this area. For the most part the residential stuff close to the shopping and business district seem pretty middle class. Further north things get richer and further south they get poorer. As something of a break from the slums however, in the south part of town is the pokemon gym, which is surrounded by a lively neighborhood and several gardens and parks. As far as pokemon go, you see signs of bird pokemon living high atop the sky scrapers, poison and vermin pokemon living in the sewer system, grass pokemon living near the gym and some wilder pack pokemon living in the poor section of town.

Sam looks a bit worse for wear after taking both of the blows. He makes a questioning noise. Vera nods at him. "Alright then. Another Powder Snow, after this." She quickly tosses a Pokeball at the Spearow. Sam then releases a blast of snow right at the two birds. {Pokeball} Accuracy - 14394449651d20 Capture - 1d100-1 {Powder Snow} Ice Special, AC 2, Freezes on 19-20 Accuracy - 1d20 Damage - 2d6+21

Given how she has lived mostly among rather egalitarian islanders, she has an interest in seeing how different the rich and poor areas are. Obviously, the rich areas would be more impressive and they are something she really has never seen before. She can't quite remember her times in Unova, so the skyscrapers seem new to her as well. Alex looks down to her Squirtle companion and smiles. "Jojo, where do you want to go, bud?"
The little turtle walks around in a little circle, obviously weighing his options before he decides. And then the skyscrapers catch his attention. He looks up so far that he falls onto his back and begins to flail about as he can not get up. Curse his turtle shell! Luckily his trainer takes pity on him and picks him up.
"Want to get a closer look, Jojo?" Alex asks, doing a good job at not laughing at the little turtle. Jojo nods and Alex places him in her shoulders, letting him ride on her to prevent him from falling on his shell again. And they were off to go look at the tall skyscrapers!

Getting into Kanto had been surprisingly easy for Marcus; the flood of refugees had left national security a bit lax when it came to all the red tape typically associated with immigration, and no one seemed to care that he didn't have a passport. So many people - entire families - had been uprooted with little time to worry about grabbing personal belongings first... many who took the time to pack never made it out alive as their homes and streets were caught in the crossfire.
But now that he was here... Marcus didn't know what to do with himself.
"What do... normal people do?" he debated quietly as he stood at the bottom of the ramp off the boat that had brought him to the new region. "How do they just live? Day to day? With no mission, no objective, no orders?"
<You expect me to have the answer?> a solemn voice chided him, unheard by the people shuffling past him. <...Would it help if I gave you an order?>
<I'm done taking orders,> he fumed inwardly, shaking his head. <But if you've got any good ideas...> The voice answered only with pensive silence, but a moment later it spoke again.
<We are still being watched, by the way.> Cursing under his breath, Marcus turned to look back at the ship - and sure enough, through one of the boat's portholes he could make out a tuft of disheveled purple fur framing saucer-wide eyes, unblinking. Marcus stared right back at it, refusing to let it see how unnerved he was.
"Damn, that thing creeps me out." A passing civilian gave him a confused glare, and Marcus arched an eyebrow. "What, you've never seen a guy talking to his Pokemon before?" He patted the sheath resting against his back. <That, uh, that is something people do, right?>
<As you would say, "Hell if I know."> With a noncommittal grunt, the soldier started walking away from the docks, looking for a city directory.
"Pokemon Centers. People were taking shelter there when they lost their homes. They've got to do the same here, with so many refugees. Let's just find a place for the night and figure out what to do tomorrow. I don't think I'm up to any more difficult life-altering decisions for the moment."
<A sound strategy. You have gotten less than twenty-two hours of sleep in the last week.>
<I haven't been that bad->
<I have many functions, Marcus. Hyperbole is not one of them.> Marcus groaned, but couldn't argue - Alpha had proven to be a stickler for precise statistics. <You will need resources if you intend to do more than try and live off the land here. I recommend you find a source of income as quickly as possible.>
"What, like... a job? I don't know how to do anything other than fight." <I don't... want to kill again. Not so soon.> The sword remained silent for a long moment.
<Only if it becomes necessary.> ------------------

Miffed at the fact that in such a short time people are watching, Kage must devise a plan quickly. He says, "Alright, my new friend, this is Hane." Kage releases his baby Sneasel, "She's gonna help us escape. First, I'm going to throw a Pokéball out of the window at the people then we're all going to try and take the opportunity to dash out and escape by rooftop each in different directions. We'll meet four blocks to the south once it's clear. Ready?" Kage counts it out and throws the Pokéball. As soon as it hits the ground, the two Pokémon bolt out of the window. Kage pulls up his hood, cinches it tight, and does the same, hoping he doesn't slip this time.

Frank breaks out into a wide grin, quickly fetching out a pokeball to catch the goldeen in. He releases her immediately. "There. Now I can bring you with me wherever I go. Is it all right if I call you Pisca?" Frank releases Capricorn into the water as well. "As promised, here is the other member of my little family, Capricorn." The Spheal has been cavorting happily in the water after being stuck in a ball for so long, but he freezes when he hears Frank talking to someone. He catches sight of Pisca and stares at her with wide eyes. "Sorry, he's a bit shy."
Frank allows the two water pokemon to get to know each other and play a bit in the water, before standing and stretching. "Well, I guess it's time for some food and rest, don't you think?" He says conversationally to Minora. The Teddiursa nods decisively. "All right then. Pisca, Capricorn, I'll send you out the next time there's some water nearby, I promise." He recalls the two water pokemon and heads into town.

"ok, how about this. i'll give you two weeks to get the feebas, and when the time comes i'll meet you on top of the big shopping center with the money. and just to show you i'm serious about this, i'll give you a 300 pyen deposit." even though he didn't have the money right now, Isaac was confident that he could make up the difference given the time. plus, it would give him time to do a little research on this woman. even though the pokemon didn't seem to have been harmed, thankfully, he was still a little suspicious.

Kanto.... a new region. From the top of the boat I saw as many people, mostly refugees where abandoning the crowded boat. They mainly had stayed under the deck, wondering what would become of them, of their homes left behind. Like myself they had to leave all behind and venture into whatever the region would offer to the many that ran away from the war. Where are you father? Where are you mother? They had gone through the worst, having to stay in the region, knowing that their lives would save so many others, buying them time to get away.
From the side, Lurrak placed his scaled paw on my back. The small Sandshrew had been very protective with me since we had ran away from the estate house leaving the strugling present for a hopeful future.
I'm ok, Lurrak, it's ok... My mind was somewhere else, but I had to prevent the little pokemon from worrying after me. Let's go.
Trying to look through the fog in the dock, I left the deck as one the last refugees setting foot on Kanto, followed closely by the Sandshrew. By the look on his face it looked like he was waiting to set his paws on earth instead of the metal in which we had traveled on through the dangerous sea. He really didn't like the sea either. Must be because he is a Ground pokemon. I caressed his head and continued until the small market, although I wasn't sure of what would be my way from now on.
Why don't you take a look around, Lurrak?
While the young Lurrak looked around, I did the same, trying to determine what was around me.

Everyone: If any of you are interested in teaming up with another player, let me know and I can make sure you bump into someone else interested in teaming up. Unless otherwise specified or unless you end up in the exact same place, I'll just have everyone doing solo adventure stuff.
Vera: You time the throw of the pokeball perfectly, hitting the Fearow squarely in the center of the chest as it swooped up after the peck attack. The ball shakes but a single time and then lies still. Seeing both its companions downed or captured, the last pidgey turns to flee, but Sam drops it with the powder snow before it can get away. 45exp to distribute between your two pokemon. Spearow is Male, Level 10, Bold nature with the Keen Eye ability.
Alex: The skyscrapers of the Shopping District are even more impressive up close than they were at a distance. The tallest one's top can't even be seen as it goes above the clouds. The shopping district itself is impressive for other regions, with a staggering array of products of all possible prices. There are shops selling pokeballs in sets of a hundred and shops selling handbags for more money than you have had in your entire life. In addition to the shops, there are also restaurants, and the smell of some of these reminds you that you have not had a proper meal for days, the food they serve on the boat being hardly describable as food. Again, the options seem limitless with food being sold at every price and quality.
Marcus: You soon find out that pokemon centers provide free food and lodging for anyone with at least one registered pokemon. The pokemon center closest to the docks is full up from refugees, but there are two more in town, and they both have room. You get a room for the night, though you have to share it with a bookish looking man who seems very intently focused on the new pokedex/visas that you guys had all received. As far as work went, the pokemon centers all had job boards for temp work, but there was apparently a fair bit of longer term stuff open. With the size of the shopping district, there was always demand for shopkeepers and clerks. Additionally you heard that there was some amount of demand for people to help round up pokemon in the poor districts of town as they had started to travel in packs and harass some citizens down there.
Kage: The Meowth nods and you spring into action. All three of you bolt for the window after you toss the ball and start to climb. You manage to scramble up to the roof, but its hard to avoid envying the grace that Hane and the Meowth display. You here some shouts of exclamation, and it seems like somebody saw something, but you manage to make it to the meet up point without noticing any police. The Meowth is already there, and Hane arrives a short time later. Once you are all there, the Meowth writes perfectly legible Kanto in the dust of the alley. "A third for each of us then?" it writes pointing to itself, you and Hane.
Frank: Unfortunately it seems your sense of direction seems to have deserted you and somehow it takes you almost an hour to make it to the city that is clearly visible from almost any given location. Once you are inside the city you get lost again, and soon find yourself in a particularly harsh seeming section of town. The people here all give you angry looking glances and from some howls and growls you hear from down alleyways, it might be pretty dangerous if you stray of the path very far. Even worse than that, there does not seem to be any place to get food or drink around here.
Isaac: The woman shakes her head. "I can get the Feebas, but I can't promise to be anywhere on a specific day. My work has me travelling a fair bit." She hands you a business card. "Give me a call when you have the money and we'll set up a meet. It will take me about five days to get a hold of. I'll give you a week after that to get a hold of me, otherwise I'll sell it to someone else."
Owain: You quickly walk down the way into the nearby city. The place seems to have a huge and bustling shopping district, along with being a pretty large city. There is also a pokemon gym somewhere in the south of town and three different pokemon centers, two of which seem to have rooms still open. When you meet back up with your Sandshrew it has some sort of herb that has a strong smell of medicine in its mouth.

Frank looks around, noting the unwanted attention. "Comeon, Minora, this is no place for you," he says, recalling the little bear into her pokeball. He looks around once more, hoping to get his bearings, and attempts to put on a grim, menacing demeanor. Time to walk out of this place before he or his pokemon get hurt. While he's moving, he listens to the howls and growls, trying to discern what sort of pokemon he may have to face. Intimidate Check: 13689452453d6-1

With how Alex's head is craned upward, it's a good thing she isn't a Squirtle, because she'd be on her back just as Jojo was not too long ago. She never had seen such tall buildings before now. Jojo is even more impressed, his little Squirtle tail bobbing back and forth almost like a Growlithe's.
The looking at wares goes fairly well, but being almost broke prevents Alex from doing much more than window shopping. "Jojo, I think I need a job or something. Maybe I didn't think the whole not go live with my mom's family thing through..." Alex says as she tries to look up at the little blue turtle that was still being given a shoulder ride.
Of course, occupations for people like Alex are few and far between. But, her grandfather was a Ranger... That always interested Alex when she heard his stories of rescuing people and whatnot during natural disasters. Perhaps it was time to find a Pokemon Center to ask about Rangers? Yes, yes it was.
Note: Totally willing to team up with anyone who wants a companion of some sort!
