You are standing outside diglet cave at around midday. There is a small city to the north and an ominous looking forest to the south. Rolling hills and tall grass cover the distance between the two landmarks.

Finally out of the cave, Thompson put out the torch and stretched a little bit. "Armo, what do you say to checking out that forest?"

"Well, since we have not had trouble yet, the forest sounds like solid plan, yes!" Armo recalls Sado, and deploys Sully, his Croagunk. "Your Poison typing will be most beneficial, yes?"

Thompson nodded a bit and looked at his trio of pokemon. "You three ready to have more fun?" He began to walk towards the forest.

Batiro: I'm assuming you meant Croagunk, unless something has happened that I am unaware of.
You both start walking toward the forest. When you get fairly close you notice a man in a bright red uniform sleeping in a hammock outside the forest.

The two of you decide to leave the man to his nap, and continue on your way to the forest. It seems less ominous now that you are inside, and it is filled to the brim with bug pokemon. All of the bugs seem kinda distracted and slow for some reason. You can find groups of weedle and caterpie of pretty much any size in the forest.

Armo grabs Thompson by the shoulder, and makes him stop. "My friend, would you mind if we tried to catch a few of these yellow, how you say, Weedle? I think we know certain trainer who would want one of these..."

Thompson glanced towards Armo and shrugged a little bit. "It couldn't hurt. I don't have any plans. But I hope to find something that I like here too."
After looking around at all of the bugs, he turned to Armo once more. "I heard about this fire bug...I want it if we can find it."

Pick a number between 2 and 10. You encounter a group of weedle and caterpie that large. They seem almost drugged, so you get a free attack on the group.

Seeing the stagnant bugs, Thompson took this as his chance to get in some action. "Ace, let's roast them."
Thompson then runs up to one of the bugs and swings his legs around for a kick or two. Double Kick: Attack: 11081118231d20 1d20 Damage: 1d6+16+16 Phyisical Fight Damage
Meanwhile Ace took in a deep breath before shooting out an ember on another. Ember: Attack: 1d20 Damage: 2d6+20 Special Fire Damage

Armo finds his chance to shine! He quickly runs to the center of the six bugs, and pulls out his ukulele... "Friends, gather around for performance, yes!"
<strum strum strum> Playing song for Cater-pie, First song for new friends, you-see? Armo though feels not afraid, Music is a fine old trade! <strum strum strum>
The song is strangely hypnotic to the Caterpie, though the musician's friends don't notice a thing.

While his master strums away, caught up in the emotion of the moment as he often was, Sully takes the opportunity to move forward and smack the furthest Caterpie with Faint Attack!

Thompson's attack seems to do next to no damage to the little bug that he hits, but Ace's fire takes out the bug it fires at. With only five bugs left, Armo's music can effect all of them. Four fall asleep, and the one that remains awake is struck by faint attack. It takes the hit reasonably well. There are now 5 bugs left. 1 caterpie is awake and wounded, 1 caterpie is asleep, 1 weedle is very slightly wounded and asleep and two other weedle are asleep and unwounded. One caterpie is burnt to a crisp. You guys are faster than the bugs, so you have another set of moves before their actions.

"Get another one, Ace."
Thompson went after the wounded caterpie with a bite after seeing his kick do no damage while Ace went after one of the unwounded Weedles with ember again.

Ember: Attack - 1d20 Damage - 2d6+20 Fire Special Damage

The punched caterpie goes down, as does the burned weedle.
