Armo spends his time looking for some kind of leverage he could take over the incoming swarm: Pokemon with types strong against Bug, tools he could use, etc etc. If nothing else, he'll try and set traps or something.

Batiro spends the day looking for allies in the fight. He manages to convince a travelling pack of pidgey, led by a lone Pidgeotto to join in the defense that night in exchange for some of the berries that the Pikachu have. One of the Pikachu explains the defenses that they have set up and tell you of the various plans to move to increasingly more defensible positions if the enemy appears to be breaking through. Most of their defenses are too small for you guys to use very well, but they show you a hidden path through some very dense underbrush that you should use to fall back if your area you are holding is taken. They also show you their berry stores and tell you that you can take a few berries for the upcoming fight. They have a large supply of all tier one and two berries. Finally, as the sun starts to go down, the two of you spot a group of two rangers walking through the forest, obviously searching for something or other. They do not see you guys.

Armo snatches up a few Lum, Oran, and Persim berries for the encounter ahead.
"Do we consult with these rangers, friend?"

Thompson looks over the berries with his pokemon companions and they begin to point out ones that they'd like. He grabbed a few Oran berries, a few Liechi berries, Petaya berries and Sitrus berries for the encounter. Soon he noticed the rangers and thought for a moment. "Yeah...I guess we can. Unless you want to stay deep in the forest and fight."

The two of you approach the rangers. They explain that they are looking for a reason for the increased hostility from the forest and you explain the pikachu situation. The two rangers say that they had known that pikachu were one of the only non-bug species that managed to rake out an existance in the forest, but had no idea about the defenses and such. The pair says that they will show up to help with the battle after they spend the rest of their day searching for the cause. Eventually the two of you head back to the pikachu encampment, and set up a some defenses and what not before positioning yourself wherever you choose. Here is the link to the map we will use for the battle: app.roll20.net/join/214649/Y521agGreen circles are trees, red xs are traps, yellow xs are places the pikachu come out of, the swirly green is the dense underbrush you guys can retreat through, brown lines are some spiky stuff the pikachu set up to be difficult terrain. Each of you can place 4 more red xs wherever you want and move your sprites wherever. Let me know what pokemon you want out as well, and where you want them positioned.

OK, everything is set up. I'm not going to bother with initiative. Its just going to be you two and your pokemon, then your allies, then the enemy. So make your moves and such and then I'll update everyone else.

#You guys technically should not be able to control two pokemon at once, but its been forever since I have updated so I'm just going to say that you guys are really hopped up on adrenaline right now and are thinking and speaking much faster than the average trainer.
Both of Thompson's pokemon take down an enemy. The two pikachu near him work together to take down another bug. Raichu blasts a metapod out of the fight. The Nidorino hits a weedle hard, bringing it to the edge of fainting. The Nidorina moves closer to try and support the Nidorino. The flock of Pidgey all target a nearby Metapod and take it out, while their leader takes out a weedle. The group of Pikachu near the back move forward to set up behind the layer of traps in front of them. The beedrill up north charges Pilot and deals 12 damage after applying defense and resistance. The Metapod and caterpie near by try to help out, but pilot manages to dodge the attacks. A bunch of the other bugs in the area advance forward but largely get slowed down by the brush. Three weedle fire off attacks against ace and do a combined 21 damage after applying defense. The weedle that had been hurt by the Nidorino ends up getting itself knocked out by walking into one of the traps, and others nearby end up charging the Nidorino which takes all of the attacks very well. On the south side of the battlefield, the bugs assault the birds, with one pidgey going down and several others pretty close. The butterfree managed to put the Pidgeoto to sleep. From deeper in the forest you can hear the sound of more movement, so its possible that a second wave will be arriving.

Sandshrews swift attack hurt all of the bugs it was targetting, but they definitely seem like they can still take some more hits. Pilots attack on the beedrill puts the beedrill on the edge of fainting, with it barely hanging on. Ace meanwhile, takes out another weedle with his attack. The two pikachu below Thompson manage to take out a caterpie with a combined attack. The Raichu attacks a caterpie, but the creature manages to dodge his electrical assualt. One of the rangers charges up after his pokemon and attempts to attack a weedle, but misses with his attack. His Nidorino on the otherhand lands a critical strike on the beedrill which brings it pretty close to fainting. Nidorina tries to follow up but the beedrill evades. The group of four pikachu each try to double team a caterpie near the pidgeys, but only one of the two teams is successful, with the second caterpie dodging both of the thundershocks sent his way. The pidgey swarm around there sleeping leader, hoping to protect him from harm. They fire off gusts at various enemies and manage to take down a weedle and a caterpie. The Pidgeotto meanwhile awakens from its slumber almost right away and fires off a blast of wind at the butterfree that had put it to sleep. The Beedrill, caterpie and metapod that are surrounding Pilot attack him for a combined total of 45 damage after defense is taken into account. One caterpie charges forward toward Ace, but is hit by a trap which almost takes it down, and prevents it from attacking. Two weedle nearby manage to scramble over the logs, but one gets itself knocked out by a trap as soon as it makes it across and the other fires a poison sting at Ace. Ace manages to dodge the attack however. Meanwhile, the beedrill that had been fighting the nidoran, breaks off that fight and attacks one of the pikachu. With the help of a poison sting from a nearby weedle, they manage to take the pikachu out. Some other bugs in the area attempt to fight the nidoran with little success. The wave of bugs in the south east corner advances and slows as it hits the log barrier. All of the weedle in the area fire off poison stings at the Raichu, but it seems to take almost no damage from any of the attacks. The butterfree attempts to put it to sleep, but the Raichu evades that as well. The caterpie and weedle around the bird pokemon manage to take down 2 of the pidgey, while the Butterfree fires off a stun spore at the pidgeotto. The pidgeotto becomes paralyzed. The sound of reinforcements sounds imminent indeed and it seem likely more bugs will show up next round.
