Seeing the Weedle fire off a shot at Thompson, Ace growled before shooting off another ember towards that bug.
Thompson took the blow and shuddered a little bit before going after the Caterpie with a bite.

"You, go in ball, yes?" Armo tosses another ball at the Weedle.

The weedle that had attacked Thompson goes down in fire. The caterpie is injured, but wakes up due to the injury. Armo's pokeball catches the last weedle. Level 4, Male, Silk Threads, Desperate Nature. The final caterpie finds itself alone against two humans and two trainers, and hightails it, shooting a stringshot to a tree off to the side and pulling itself away. 12xp for each pokemon in the battle.

Armo, happy with his new companion, recalls Sully. "Is enough hard work for today, yes?"
He turns back to Thompson. "If we continue, we head to Viridian City, yes? At moment, we have tossup of Ground-type or Rock-type gym. Which would you prefer, friend?"

Thompson brushes himself off after all of the bug pokemon are dealt with and looks towards Armo with a slight grimace.
"I would prefer neither. But if I must pick, rock type."
He was wondering what his friend was talking about, but one thing he did know was the weaknesses of his family.

So are you guys heading back north to Pewter or are you doing anything more in the forest?

You travel back through the woods toward the city that you saw earlier. The bugs seem a bit more active at this point but still sluggish. As you get close to edge of the forest, you catch a flash of yellow, something that looks like a non-bug pokemon in these woods.

Walking back through the woods, Thompson stops at the sight of something yellow. "Let's go see what that is, Armo."

The two of you follow the yellow streak, which seems to show itself for just a moment whenever you think you have lost track of it. Eventually you find it standing plainly in the open next to a gnarled looking tree. It is a Pikachu, though this one looks like it has seen better days. Pieces of its ears and fur are missing, and it doesn't look like it has sight in one of its eyes. It seems to be pointing to something next to the tree. When you investigate, you see two small yellow eggs. Thompson is able to discern that it wants you to take the two eggs. For some reason this forest is a horrible place for young Pikachu and it wants its kids to grow up in a better place.

"My word..." Armo knelt down and took an egg, but also turned to the older Pikachu. "My friend... Armo feels you would be better off with Thunderstone, yes? If you would like one, you could come with us to find one, or we could bring one to you. What say you, tiny mouse friend?"

Thompson leans down and takes an egg himself before listing to Armo talk to the Pikachu. It seemed like a great idea, it was probably the best idea for this pokemon and he nodded in agreement.
