The pikachu speaks and Thompson interprets. "I would certainly not turn down such a powerful tool, but I cannot leave the forest because there are others I need to protect. I thank you for giving my children a better home."

Armo nods to the grizzled Pikachu. "A protector? That settles it! I cannot leave you here to suffer! I will find you Thunderstone, yes? I will return soon as I can with one!" The old musician admired the protectorate Chu, and to help him in any way he could would be a great blessing!

This Pikachu was something else, Thompson wanted him, he needed this companion with him but he knew exactly what needed to happen. "We'll be back with that Thunderstone for you. Don't you worry, Protector."
Thompson then looked towards Armo. "What do ya say we head back to town and see if anyone knows where we can find one?"

You say goodbye to battle hardened pikachu. You walk back towards town, past the sleeping man in the bright red coat, and make it back to town as it is starting to get darker. Its about 6.

"Getting dark, yes? I will take an hour or so to train my friends, and how you say, 'hit the hay' after! Let's be off!"
Armo will now spend two hours training Weedle, Sandshrew, and Croagunk (Group Trainer). Weedle gains 6 EXP, Sandshrew gains 9 EXP, and Croagunk gains 7 EXP. He calls it a night afterwards.

In the morning, Thompson checked on his pokemon before getting ready and waited for Armo before attempting to ask around about where to find a Thunderstone.

Armo is ready to move out, deciding to keep his new Weedle on his shoulder. "Is all about you today, yes? I hear you Bug-types evolve quickly, we will make sure that happens today!"
Before heading out, he heads to the Mart to pick up a few things: Two Poke Balls (500) and a Bandage (300).

"Are you ready, friend?"

"Most assuredly! If we look for Thunderstone, I would say we search for dealer, but museum may also be valuable place to look. If I search museum, would you perhaps look for dealer?"

Thompson nodded. "Sounds good. How about we meet back here in an hour or so with what we find."
Thompson then walks off and begins to walk around town, looking for someone who might sell thunderstones.

Thompson: You walk the town of Pewter asking around for the location of a thunderstone. Several of the people in town tell you that while occasionally a travelling trader or trainer will have a thunderstone for sale, its fairly rare to find one in a town as small as this. In general most of the merchants say your best bet is to travel to Celedon, where there giant department stores have them always in stock even if they are fairly expensive.
Armo: You head towards the museum, but when you get there, there is a sign saying that the place is closed. A passerby explains that there had been a robbery here only a few days ago, and the place was closed while the police gathered evidence. When you explain why you are interested in checking out the museum he suggests that perhaps you should check the mountains near the power plant. Because of the many electric pokemon that have gathered around the plant, a lot of the rock around there has absorbed some of its charge and become thunder stones.

Thompson sighs a bit before heading back to the Pokecenter with the bad news...that they'd have to travel to Celedon unless he had a better lead.

Armo runs frantically back to Thompson with startling news! "My friend, good and bad news! I have learned we can gather Thunderstones from the Power Plant east of here, through Cerulean City, but I have also learned there was a robbery in the museum! A hard life it is here, yes?"
