You are undisturbed during the night. You wake a bit later than you had planned, but after the ekans battle yesterday, you figure that you deserve something of a break. You continue your trek towards Fuschia City. After about an hour of moving through the woods, you spot movement up ahead, and see a lone Ekans moving through the brush ahead of you. It looks larger than the ones that you had fought previously.

Mike stops abruptly, remembering the encounter from the day before. He ducks don to try and stay out of sight and to watch where the serpent goes.

The snake moves onward, though it looks back for a moment almost right at you before continuing perpendicular to your travel route.

Mike decides to wait for the serpent to pass by, allowing a lot of breathing room. Then he'll move on towards Fuchsia.

The snake disappears into the forest, and a few minutes later you continue on your way. After about an hour of trekking through the woods, you spot a person. He is dressed in brown cloth, similar in fashion to how a ninja might dress minus the head covering. There is a sword on his waist and he seems to be walking with a great deal of purpose.

Mike is a bit wary to call out to the man, but he is going to follow him. If he gets close enough, Mike will announce his presence.

You follow the man for a bit and after a few minutes you find yourself walking into the edge of town. It seems that he was headed back here. From first look Fuschia City looks like something out of an old Samurai movie, with wooden and paper walls and many closely connected houses. You can see a perfectly normal pokemon center nearby however.

Mike thinks, 'Hmm... this place is nice. Very quaint.' For a touch of familiarity, he heads to the Pokemon Center to gain some info on the Safari Zone and the surrounding area. Once inside, he finds a nurse to ask. "Hello miss. I'm new in town, well new in the country, actually, and was wondering if you could tell me about the Safari Zone and any other places of interest around here."

"The safari zone is a great place to catch some rare pokemon, along with a great place for less experienced trainers to get started because of the fact that pokemon battles do not occur within its confines. It will cost you 500 per trip, so if money is tight it can start to get expensive but is a pretty great opportunity. As far as other things to do around here, this town has a great cultural heritage. You can visit the gym to experience a real ninja castle, along with several other castles and shrines around town. If you have any interest in the art of the sword, we also have several dojo around town that raise up some of the greatest practitioners in the world. That side of town is kinda dangerous right now, but as long as you are not rude to anyone, an outsider such as yourself should be fairly safe."

"Hmm.. thank you very much Nurse. If you wouldn't mind, could you point me in the direction of the Safari Zone? I'd like to make some new friends like my Caterpie here." Mike nuzzles up to the bug on his shoulder. Once given directions, Mike heads to the Safari Zone straight away, pay to enter, and start his Safari.

The nurse points the way and a few minutes later you are hearing from the safari zone lady basically the same thing that you heard from the nurse. You have to leave all of your pokeballs behind, and they provide you with 5 safari balls and half an hour to explore. You enter the safari zone. You can see herds of ponyta in the distance, along with several different forests and a number of pools of water. There are also more grasslands with various other herds that you can see in the distance. Give me a destination and a perception check.

Mike thanks the receptionist and heads onto the zone. Once inside, he checks his Pokédex for bug Pokémon habitats and sets his course for a forested area.

It seems most all the bug pokemon that live in the Safari Zone live in the forested area. You head to that zone and start looking around. After a few minutes of wandering, you follow a few tracks and find a large Parasect sitting on top of a rock in the jungle. It looks at you lazily and waves one of its pincers at you.

Mike smirks and approached the mushroom bug. He takes his time as to not frighten the critter. Once upon it Mike says, "Hello. I'm Mike. Your kind have accepted me into their species," Mike shows the Parasect his barbs and spinnerets, "and I'm here looking for friends to accompany me. would you care to join me in my adventures around the country?" If the bug accepts then great, if not, Mike will ask, "well do you know where I might find some bugs that might?"

The bug replies slowly, saying something akin to, "I'm a bit old for all that travelling junk, but I know a few folks who might be interested." The creature points through the forest, "Down that way you'll find my daughter and two of her friends. They are always talking about going off to see the world. Why don't you give them a try?"
