The twineedle attack knocks the bellsprout in question out, while the tackle attack does a fair bit of damage to the oddish. It seems that the red powder may increase the aggression and attack power of grass pokemon while reducing their defenses. Scyther and Pincer charge into the second rank of the creatures. Three make it past them this round and the grass pokemon attack again. Mike is able to dodge the wave of Acid that is spewed from his fauna foes. In doing so, Keraia falls off of his shoulder and is pummeled by vines, knocking it out. Mike recalls the baby bug and sends out Casque. Mike then uses a Potion on himself.

It looks like the swarm of red pokemon is abating a bit, the scyther and pincer, taking a lot of them down. Still, there are three close by you and casque that fire off attacks.

"Casque, hit 'em back!"
Casque jumps in an attacks a plant with Leech Life. Sucking the life right out of it. Mike, however, uses Twineedle on the same target, should it not fall to Casque.(A different target if it does)

All of the red plants have gone down. All in all it looks like there are about ten of the red plants defeated on the ground. With the plants gone, the clearing is early quite, the red spores simply floating about, still wafting out of the open graves. A moment after they are all down, the grass pokemon start to hiss and red spores start to float out of them.

Other than its color, there is nothing much notable about the plant from a distance. You inch closer to it and examine it and something seems weird about it. After a few minutes of looking and thinking you realize the issue. The plant is in fact perfectly symmetrical, with none of the normal slight abnormalities of organic life. Something about this plant makes you think it was created artificially.

Perplexed at this, Mike grabs his sleep roll from his pack, scoops the plant out of the dirt and wraps the sleep roll around it. He shows it to Bolet ans asks his opinion on what's going on here. Regardless of what she says, Mike heads back to Fuchsia to talk to the authorities about it.

The paras says that the thing is definitely the source of the red spores, but that she doesn't know anything else about this whole thing. The trip back into Fushia is quick. When you head to the police station and explain the situation to the cops, they seem a bit unsure of how to proceed. "We technically only have jurisdiction within the city limits. We also don't have any idea about this plant. You can leave it with us and we will do what we can, but it might be better to take this to the Rangers, or to a gym leader. Erica in Celedon would know the most about plants, but it almost sounds like a poison, so maybe Koga would be a better bet."

Mike thanks the officer and decides to head to the Fuchsia Gym as it is closer. He asks directions from the officer before leaving. Once he arrives, he enters immediately.

The officer gives you directions, along with a warning. "Its not particularly easy to get to the gym leader, because the entire building is filled with traps and puzzles. Be extremely careful and you should do fine." When you arrive at the gym, the two large bugs accompanying you deciding to stay outside, it is just as he had described, and you find yourself moving through hallways filled with traps for quite a ways. You manage to avoid some of them, but the ones you set off always seem to miss by just a fraction, so you begin to think that they might be more for show than anything. Eventually you reach a room with three doors. One says Leverage, one says Power and the last says Strategy.

Mike slips and slides, jumps and leaps his way through the Gym. His heart pounding and forehead soaked, he reaches three doors. He ponders his three options. He does not seek Power, nor Leverage, though, Strategy is not what he seeks either.

Mike decides to open the Strategy door. Since he is looking for answers about the plant, he is seeking knowledge and knowledge is needed to implement Strategy.

You step through the door and find yourself in a small room with a fully garbed, ninja. He nods at you and asks, "What is your purpose in this gym? To learn, to train or to fight?"

Mike looks all around him, studying the room and the Ninja. "I am here on urgent business that is effecting the Pokémon surrounding this city. I need to speak to Master Koga, please. I have brought this," Mike pulls out the make-shift satchel with the sapling in it, "From what I saw, it's pretty dangerous to Pokémon. Can you help me?"
