Thompson confusion: 20002452041d20
Once again, Thompson manages to fight through his confusion and lash out to bite one of the remaining zubats. 1d20 But misses and falls short.

The zubat that is hit by the ember is awoken by the pain.

The other Zubat wakes up as well. They both take stock of the situation though, detecting that the rest of their companions have been dispatched, and flap away down the tunnel.
You guys get 64 exp a piece for your pokemon, and 2 trainer exp for that fight.

"Ugh... bats are annoying, yes? Do not think I like them," Armo said with light breath as he applied a bandage around his head. "Old world cure for fatigue. Keeps blood going to eyes and brain, instead of other places. Keeps Armo awake!" He attempted a hearty laugh, but coughed a bit as well.
"Shall we continue on? I may be frail old man, but my Pokemon are strong!"

Thompson took in a deep breath, a little shook up by everything that had happened. "Let's continue on. I'm not done yet."
He wrapped a bandage around his waist before walking on.

The two of you continue on your way through the cave complex. You avoid fights with any more Zubat, and eventually find your progress blocked by an underground river. You can just make out the path continuing on the other side of the river, but it appears to be eight or ten feet across and have a fairly swift current.

Looking at the current, Thompson sighed before looking in his pack for anything to help them get across but not finding anything. "What do you think, Armo. I have nothing to get across."

Thompson scans the area, looking for anything to help get across the river. While there does not appear to be any vines around, he spots the movement of several pokemon under the water. Additionally, there are enough rocks around that one might be able to build a bridge across given a day or two.

Armo backs away from the water, giving point to Thompson. "This one all yours, wild friend. You charm Pokemon, hope we can be ferried across, yes? Otherwise we must do this hard way..."

Looking to the pokemon in the water, Thompson nodded a little bit before squatting down and speaking to the fish in the water. "Would any of you big guys in there help me and a friend out? We are trying to get across but we have nothing to do so with."

With the help of the goldeen you both make it across, though it is a close thing for Armo, who manages to get to shore on the other side, just before he is pulled beyond the edge and further down the underground tunnel.
