You step into the center to ask around, since that is where most of the trainers would likely be, and after a few moments, 2 of the nurse's take you up on the challenge. Apparently this is the pokemon center where nurse's in training work, so their are around ten in the center and they can spare the two. One of the nurse's is a girl with short black hair, while the other is guy with shoulder length pink hair. "Nice to meet you," says the guy, "The name is Alex Joy. How many pokemon is every side going to use?"

Thompson looks to the two of them with a slight nod. "I'm Thompson. And we are going to be using one pokemon each person, for a total of two per side. That work?"
Thinking about his options, he looks to Tank. "You are up, Tank."

Luckily they were already in a Pokecenter, but of course that also meant that Thompson was out of the double battle. While he watched over his shoulder at the evolving Weedle, he scooped up Tank and offered him to get healed up.

The both of you get 7xp from your adventures so far. The nurses do what they can with your pokemon but they cannot use their machines when the pokemon are not in pokeballs. They are able to heal it up to 1hp but the rest will have to be healed naturally.
