Jin frowned as his kicks didn't make quite the impact he had been hoping for, the resulting explosion shook him slightly, but by the time the smoke had cleared he was standing unscathed, holding Sadman's Voltorb in one hand. His gaze was currently looking at the suicidal pokemon, before slowly turning to Sadman and his Geodude. "My Commander once called me Kurokaze... but when I decided to come to Kanto, he suggested I take on a more common name. So you may call me Jin." In a flash Jin was around the Geodude and right in Sadman's face looking as if he was about to beat the man down with his own fainted Voltorb, but instead one hand flicked downward and a blast of smoke broke out between the two. Through the smoke all that was visible of Jin were his cold eyes, staring at and through Sadman as if he weren't even there. "Onix, keep them busy." He muttered lowly.

For Jin time almost seemed to slow down, he saw Sadman's arm coming in and while he couldn't piece together what the point of it all was he instinctively sidestepped and moved around his side. The resulting explosion didn't so much as ruffle Jin's hair while he could see it burned his own hand a little from being so close- this man was insane, or perhaps simply desperate. "Told myself I could live a quiet life in Kanto... yet here we are." He said more to himself and his Onix than Sadman. "I hate to ask you to do this- but please, endure what is about to come." He muttered as his Onix roared defiantly at the incoming Geodude.
During Jin's move he shifted to a momentary handstand swinging his foreleg hard into Sadman's stomach aiming to knock him out, or at the very least give him pause. He did this using the smokescreen as cover, even if it would interfere with his aim it was potentially a life saver right now.

You can hear the sound of explosions behind the smokescreen, but you just have to trust in your onix for now. Your attack against Sadman was enough to flinch the man, though he managed to spit out a few words even as his body contorts in pain. "I'm going to blow each of your limbs off one by one kid. Your monologues are less than enthralling."

"Onix! If you're still alive out there, your defenses are your strongest weapon here!" Jin called out, hoping Onix was conscious enough to continue raising its guard. Explosions were devastating but Jin knew they weren't the best weapon against Rock-types. He turned his attention back on Sadman. With something a growl he let out a pair of quick kicks to Sadman's legs. "Come along quietly, and I can assure you a fair trial- continue to destroy Ms. Calico's cottage, and being sent to prison will be the least of your worries."

Your barrage of kicks is doing a lot of damage, but it still is not quite enough to take out the guy man yet. As he moves to pull something out of his pocket, you can tell that the guy has some sort of armor on under his clothes. What he pulls out appears to be a radio. He speaks into it. "Electrode, if you don't hear from me in 20 seconds, I want you to blow this cabin sky high." With that said, he turns back to you. "What will it be kid. Both of us can walk away or both of us can die."

Jin's face didn't appear to change as Sadman made his ultimatum, he kept his stone cold glare as he quickly tried wrapping an arm around Sadman's neck and drag him toward the window he used to enter. "Or, I can kill you and leave here untouched- you've seen two explosions already fail to so much as scuff my outfit, and 20,000 Pyen isn't going to change my life." He tried getting a look at Onix. "We're getting out of here! Break through the door if you have to." He called out, then said lowly to Sadman, looking him straight in the eyes. "Now you've got... 15 seconds to call that off, or I will break you, and probably end up feeding you to some giant Weedles."

Sadman steps away from your grab, and moves closer to the middle of the room. You hear the sound of your onix smashing out one of the walls over near where it had been fighting. "You had such pretty speeches kid, but now you have nothing left. Even if you manage to take me out in the next few seconds, escaping will be all but impossible. If I were not a sociopath, I might feel sorry for you."

Jin looked up at the ceiling- no through it, and took a deep breath in through his nose. "Impossible... I once believed in such a word. That you are aware of your 'insanity' is grounds to deny it... even a little." He said simply as he rushed forward attempting to push Sadman through the hole Onix made. "If we meet in the next world, I look forward to getting to know the real Douglas Sadman." He muttered pushing his full force into Sadman's lanky body.

You charge at the man and the two of you struggle. You push him through the smoke and into the clearer part of the house, but the man has more grit than you had accounted for and is able to arrest your push. Still, you manage to twist it around so it would be easy for you yourself to make it out of the exit. Trying to maneuver Sadman however seems like a proposition that will get you both blown up. Their is less than five seconds until the electrode is supposed to explode. #If you want to try and escape at this point you are guaranteed success. If you want to try and drag Sadman out you can roll combat again, but it is going to be very hard to succeed. You of course have many other options, but I'm just going to throw those two out their as something that your character knows based on the current wrestling with Sadman.

For such a small man Douglas was putting up quite a fight, but freedom was within sight and almost within reach as well- the question was if he was willing to leave Sadman to get it. "I made a vow when I took a new name- I am not about to just let you die when you have so much to answer for!" Jin gave his all in one last mighty push, hoping with some small fraction of his being Sadman had something to live for, or perhaps was simply bluffing all along... but he doubted that. "Sorry Bruce, Onix. I promised you a better life when we left the frontlines." He thought to himself as time seemed to almost slow down for those last few seconds...

You pull the guy with all your might, kicking against his leg to try and throw him off balance and pulling him towards the exit. You can feel the seconds slipping away, as the man resists and struggles. A few feet from the door, you hear the sound of the explosion and then feel a pressing sensation. Explosion Damage(Reduced, because you got dang close to the door before it exploded): ruCPa1yY6d12+25 If you remain conscious, then you see that you and Mr. Sadman are up against a tree all the way outside the minefield. He seems to have hit his head on the tree, and is unconscious, with a lot of blood coming from his forehead. If you are knocked unconscious, then you wake up to find Onix curled up around you. Mr. Sadman is lying right nearby, but he is obviously dead, his face very pale and an incredible amount of blood pooled around him. If you are dead, then you are dead. You can take over as your onix for the rest of the game, or there are some npcs that you can run, if you want to take part in the last few weeks of this game. Jin coughed up a little blood as his vision came back into focus, he laughed a little at the fact that he was still alive- but Sadman seemed to be a bit worse off. He slowly rose and found his footing rather unsure, so he tried calling for Onix noting his own voice sounded distant and distorted. Jasmine's cabin was likely beyond salvaging at this point, he'd try to explain that to Camomile. "ONIX! WE NEED TO GET SADMAN BACK TO TOWN, HE'S BLEEDING OUT!" Jin yelled to his companion trying to yell over the ringing in his ears.
Sadman and Jin would have no trouble being carried by Onix who was suited for many more people, but ensuring Sadman didn't die on the way would be difficult. He tried doing what he could, tearing the man's sleeves off and making impromptu bandages where severe injuries appeared to be- after all this... it'd be nice if he could at least collect the bounty.

#That blast knocked Jin to 28 HP, really glad I'd been popping Fresh Waters and that potion during the bug battles. Got seriously lucky in the actual Sadman fight thanks to high speed and the Smokescreen, though that double-edged sword hurt my own attempts as well.
Jin gained 2 injuries for being knocked below 50% HP and taking more than half his max HP in one hit (47 after defense, my max with no injuries would be 81).2d6+1

Moving the man onto the Onix is seems to cause even more bleeding, and when you are trying to bandage him on the way, nothing seems to work. A few minutes into the ride, you can see that he has stopped bleeding, and there is no pulse when you check for it.

Jin silently cursed himself as Sadman's life apparently slipped through his fingers, the bounty was lost.... yes, but worse yet he was responsible for this death. The man was borderline suicidal, but if Jin had focused on subduing him rather than beating the everliving crap out of him maybe that explosion wouldn't have finished him off. Too many ifs or buts to account for, Jin patted Onix on the back to get her to stop for now as he thought things over.
He quickly patted Sadman down, the man had armor on, which could come in handy, his source of pay was lost here so anything else he could salvage from this would have to be enough. He gave a humorless laugh as he worked through Sadman's pockets. "Great... first a killer, now an early graverobber. You really cleaned yourself up, Jin." He muttered under his breath, utterly dissatisfied with how things had turned out.
Once he had gotten what he could, Jin continued on his way to Pewter city- Sadman's death still needed to be reported so the bounty could be taken down.
