When the two of you open the final gate you find behind it three sets of stairs, one leading up, one leading down, and one leading straight. The last one may or may not be just more path. The old man speaks, "The next part of the trial must be done in isolation. Each of you pick a route and follow it. I am going to take the straight route." The man walks down the path. The stairs leading up seem to wind up into the mountain, while the stairs leading down appear to head underneath the mountain, lit by strange blue burning torches.

Enzuna heads towards the upwards stairs.
"To be quite frank, my sense of direction is rather...poor. The open path would be better for myself then the dark one, if you have no objections, Zashi?"

"Enzuna, I trust your instincts almost as much as my own, and I think the lower level might be best for myself. So, please, take the upward path."

The two of you take your separate paths. Enzuna heading upward and Zashi down.
Enzuna: You climb ever higher for quite some time. The stairs that lead up become more and more narrow as you climb, with no handholds or anything other than your own feet keeping you from falling hundreds of feet down below. Eventually you arrive at a section of the stairs that simply stops for about ten feet. It continues again after that, but you have to figure out how to pass by the empty space in the stairs.
Zashi: You walk down the stairs and into the tunnels below. The only light that you can see by is the blue torches that burn every few meters. The stairs turn into a slope, but you continue to go further and further down. The further down you go the less and less frequent the torches. They originally were about a meter apart, but now are closer to fifteen. In between the torches there are places where you cannot see anything at all. It is in one of these sections of darkness that you almost walk right into a pit, only stopped by the feel of a draft coming upward from the pit. After you stop and let your eyes adjust a little, you can see that the pit is about ten feet wide and goes all the way across the tunnel.

Deciding that a gap like that would be far too big to jump, Enzuna backs up, and searches for a place to deploy Onix.

Zashi calls out Henso and Yurei and sends them both down the pit to see just how far down it is.

Enzuna: Back a little ways there is a bit of an alcove that has enough room for you to call your onix forth.
Zashi: They come back and tell you that it goes all the way down to lava level.

((I assume that is what you're describing, yes?)) THISZashi is at a loss. Short of jumping across the gap, which probably won't end well, he doesn't know what to do. He looks to Henso and asks it if it is able to transform into anything that might be helpful.

Enzuna looks at the large boulder pokemon.
"I need you to make a staircase for me. Can you do that? It's just up alongside here, burrow into the wall and I'll send you a signal of when to come out."
Walking back up the pathway, Enzuna knocks on the wall.
"Alright, right here. Can you make a staircase for me with your body?"

Zashi: #Yeah, that is what I am describing. Hensho says that while he could turn into a few simple tools, nothing would be hard enough to support your weight or anything like that, he simply does not have the strength. It mentions that you could send it and your other pokemon ahead to see if they can find anything, but its not sure what else might be able to be done.
Enzuna: Your onix nods and quick enough he follows you along and then makes himself into a short bridge across the gap. You walk across and the stairs lead ever upward. After yet more walking, your legs begin to ache and your stomach rumbles. It is then that you spot an old woman walking along this path ahead of you, carrying a large jar of something on her back. As you get closer you can smell warm soup coming from the jar. When she sees you, the old woman stops and says, "Oh, how nice it is to see another traveler along this route. Could you perhaps help an old woman carry a heavy burden?"

Zashi was afraid of that. Very protective of his companions, his biggest fear is that they'll get hurt for him. He sighs and agrees to Henso's plan, tossing each Pokeball across the gap.

Enzuna briefly peers at the elder lady's aura, but regardless he bows to her.
"Yes ma'am. What may I help you carry?"
He might not be physically the strongest, but he would do what he could to help an elderly person.

Zashi: It is quite a long time before your pokemon return, around a half an hour. You hear there return before seeing it. There is the crunching sound of heavy rock being moved and then you see them rolling what looks like the remains of an enormous stalagmite toward you. Its long enough to cross the chasm, though it seems likely to roll a bit and move around. They manage to get it into place. Roll an acrobatics check if you want to try and cross on the improvised stalagmite bridge.
Enzuna: The old woman sets down the jar of soup and says, "This soup is getting ever so heavy. If you could carry it for me for a while I would greatly appreciate it." You lift the soup in the jar is incredibly heavy. You realize quickly that while you can technically carry this jar of soup, doing so will sap all the strength from your arms, and you will likely be barely able to move them once you are done.

Enzuna faces the burden and accepts it, lifting up the heavy soup. If he could lift them, if even barely, it would be highly rude to expect the old lady to do it herself, even if she is able to.

Zashi closes his eyes and clears his mind of all doubt. When he opens his eyes he begins his 10 foot trek across a Stalag(t)mite.
