Orange lets Lightning out under the awning on the front of the pokemon center, brushes his coat, and scans him while she waits for the group to finish preparing for the trip. Lightning moves about restlessly for a while in the small area protected from the rain, then settles to stare, fascinated, at the storm coming in from the sea. "We always kept him in the barn when there was a bad storm like this, so this is the first time he's seen one" she tells Benjamin. "What were you..." She trails off as the others come out of the pokemon center, ready to leave. She recalls Lightning, who certainly has no desire to get wet, and follows the other trainers on the road to Saffron City. I hope it's okay that I skipped back a bit. It seemed more natural that she would let her blitzle out where it wouldn't get soaked in the rain.

OK, the move that Unknown knows is not Psychic, it is Hidden Power. Which does a different amount of damage and is a burst attack. Hidden Power is weird in that it can do different damage or be of a different type depending upon what what you roll initially, so I also need to know what type your hidden power is and what its base damage is. The rules for determining hidden powers type and damage are in the players handbook under hidden power. There is another set of rules next to Unknown but this set of rules is from an older version of the rules and is inaccurate. For the purpose of this battle though I'm just going to go with what you put down. So Roofie blasts the thug with some energy and the guy is very surprised. The red dog spits some fire at the guy and he seems like he is barely standing and also seems to have caught fire. The bat thing that he called comes toward you and drains your energy for some amount of damage. Your Unknown then hits the guy with the same attack that you did and he drops unconscious. Seeing this the bat flutters over to him and tries to put out the fire that is still burning him. Doesn't look like this guy will be bothering you guys much more. Lea looks at you and smiles, "While that was exciting. Didn't know you could do that blasty thing."

As for Orange, the group treks through the north gate easily enough and their walk through the grasslands is rather uneventful. Seems like this rain is keeping most everyone including the Pokemon off the road. You're group makes it to the gate house that enters into Saffron easily, but as you approach the gate itself something appears to be amiss. The gates is closed and the single guard on duty waves you away through the glass. Apparently Saffron City isn't accepting visitors at this time. The group tries to decide what to do. One guy wants to head back to town. One of them wants to try and scale the gatehouse and enter the city anyway. Benjamin points out that according to the map on the pokedexes there is some sort of underground passage way near by that leads to Cerulean. If you can find it it will be a bit of a walk, but it will all be dry and if worse comes to worse you can just camp down there.

Orange is worn out at this point, and she likes the idea of the underground passage since she would be able to lean on Sunshine again without exposing her to the weather. "I would like to get out of the rain as quickly as possible," she says "and I don't think there is much chance of finding shelter in Vermillion City anyway. Perhaps the tunnel is the best option?" She watches the darkening sky, worrying that they will not be able to find the tunnel if they don't hurry. If you would like me to make a check for this I rolled a 10.

With you and Benjamin supporting the idea of trying to find the tunnel, the group agrees to search for it. Everybody starts trying to find it, but no one seems to be having much luck. The rain makes visibility pretty bad and their is a lot of general incompetence going down in the searching department. Everyone rolled really horribly on their search checks. If you wanted to use one of your aid another abilities on the guy who did the best he would probably find it, but otherwise their was about ten minutes of searching around in the rain and not finding anything.

Orange tries to get everyone to search in rows so that they aren't wasting time re-searching areas that have been covered already. 12, 18, 11, 19

The group follows your advice and starts searching in a more organized manor. In the end however it is you that finds the building. Everyone makes there way inside the tunnel and it is really nice to get out the rain. The tunnel is dark, but Benjamin finds a lightswitch and turns it on. The whole tunnel lights up and you can see that it extends a really long way. Its just empty corridor for several miles. The group is looking to you for guidance as far as what they should do, because you were the one that found the tunnel and cast the deciding vote to look for it in the first place. Do you want to camp here, keep on trudging or do something else entirely? Let's move these posts to the Cerulean City Board at this point as you are definitely no longer in Vermilion.

Roofie gets out his pokedex, and pokedexes everything there. "Should we keep going?"

Your pokedex reveals that the bat pokemon is a Zubat and the dog pokemon is a Growlithe. Lea nods assent and both of you continue on out the east gate of the city. The sky is still dark and rain seems to simply be getting worse, but as you walk along you realize that at least no one else wants to be out in the rain so there are no enemy trainers to slow you down. Make a perception check. You are now outside Vermilion and on route 11 so please start a topic on the route 11 board for your next reply.
