You trek through the grass country carefully searching for signs of venonat. You find the purple fuzz that signifies Venonat, but as you are following it you make a misstep. Two pink oozes seep out from logs near you, with menacing looks on their simple faces.

Upon seeing the emergence of the two blobs, Zashi draws his weapon, drops the body and commands Oroku forward with him. They both run up to one of the globules, hoping to focus one down.

Cut- AC 1d20 Damage [3d8+20]
((You may notice that my Attack score is higher now on Zashi... I didn't realize that the Smith Feature gives +2 Attack))

As soon as you begin to move in to attack, the two blobs transform, one becoming a pawniard, the other a cubone. Since this was a free action before you got a chance to attack, you can pick which of the two you are targeting. Also, I assumed that you had both of your pokemon out, if that is not true let me know and then they both turned into pawniard. Also, initiative: Pawniard 12 You and Both Ditto 10

I had intended for them both to be out so yes, and both attacks will attempt to strike the Cubitto.

((Not complaining, but since I might be obtaining one of these Ditto, how do they get to use transform before the encounter without Imposter? It's not an interrupt of anything. I just want to better understand how to use Ditto.))

The cubone shaped ditto takes both hits reasonably well, looking like its bleeding it a bit after your cut, but it swings its bone club at Pawniard, at the same time as the other ditto hits you with fury cutter. Bone Club: 282238061d20 3d8+20 Ground Physical, Fury Cutter: 1d20 1d6+13 Bug Physical

Oroku dodges the club as thougs his life depended on it. Upon seeing his disadvantage he jumps back just as Mina rushes in and attacks the Dittoniard with Bone Club, swinging it ferociously at his head in defense of her teacher.
Zashi, after expertly dodging the Dittoniard's attack, keeps his focus on the Cubitto and attempts to slice at it again.

The cubone shaped one is down to its very last legs, while the pawniard one evades the bone club. With no super effective attacks available, they both decide to target you. Bone Club: 17054709011d20 3d8+20 Fury Cutter: 1d20 1d6+13

Seeing both Pokémon turn on him, Zashi is reminded of his two opponent training. He easily dodges the the first blow, but is just barely nicked by the second, taking 7 damage. Counting on his partner to take point, Zashi attempts to capture the injured Cubitto.

Minashigo and Oroku understand their Sensei's actions and switch places, with Oroku running in with a Fury Cutter.

The cubone shaped ditto is captured. Level 20. Abilities: Limber and Imposter. Composed Nature. The other one hardly seems to care about the attack from Oroku and uses fury cutter again on you: 11115710751d20 1d8+15

Zashi feels the attack cut through his jacket, cutting his right arm, not seriously, but the pain can be seen in his eyes. With his arm hurt, Zashi attacks with Double Kick just as Mina jumps back in the fight, using Bone Club on the armored Ditto.

The bone club injures the pokemon a great deal, and the double kick takes it down on the first kick. 40xp to distribute between your two pokemon however you want.
